A friend of mine told me about this really nice cafe that just opened, so we went to check it out around lunch time finding a few poeple there, reading, working or studying with a nice hot drink in their hands in this cold weather.
I liked the atmoshpere of the cafe and its decor. I took notice of the nice pictures hanging on the walls as well as the big windows and white chairs that kept the place light and fresh.
I can see myself enjoying a cup of tea while working on an assignment there but i dont recommend the food; a bit over priced for a basic small sandwhich.
Ive always past by this place and noticed the creative designs they decoarte their window with and was intruiged to check it out. I always thought it was a place you order and go but what i didnt realize was the stairs that took you up to a very chilled cafe.
its a small place but very nice with wifi so .
you would find a few poeple there to work on their laptops, others just there to catch up and chill.
A cool place i would recommend and I will definitely be visiting again
I took driving lessons with this center 6 years ago and my instructor was very patient with me and made the experience entertainiing for me.
He always tried to lift my confidence on the road and gave me a different route every time to keep it fresh and fun.
this is a gas station i try to avoid using nowadays. I can never trust that they will fill my car tank with the amount of gas i asked for.
I recall everytime i went, they would tell me my tire needed air when it really didnt.
a two storey shop with many home accessories to choose from. items range from coffee cups and dinner plates to tables, paintings, chandeliers or simple table accessories. prices are not cheap but its a nice place to shop from and their service is fabulous.
the owners are very friendly and attentive and offer home delivery.
also if you need things to be put up such as paintings or lighting, they do it all for you and do a really neat and tidy job at it.
Passed by the book shop during our Christmas shopping and was pleased to see the collection they had for Christmas specifically for kids like "Make your own ornaments" that would be really nice to do with little ones. they also had nice Christmas books that would make nice gifts.
I wasnt impressed with the service though, the employee there didnt seem very bothered with my questions or helping me find what i wanted.
I think there was quite a demand on this store to open in Jordan as it offers good fashionable clothes for reasonable prices and quality.
We went to have a look around while Christmas shopping and It didnt feel crowded as it is spread out on 2 floors in Taj mall and found many items to look at from casual clothes to formal dress wear, to accessories, shoes, bags, scarfs as well as pyjamas and underwear.
they also had a good section for men, but i didnt really see anything i liked.
The children and baby clothes were very cute! I saw a santa suit for babies that i loved and they were priced at 20 Jds but none that would fit my nephew so i guess we'll have to skip the santa suit this year.
what a disappointment! and i think many agree to this as the mall has only been open for 2 weeks and is not so crowded any more.
I recall us driving in and being very careful not to hit the sides of the car as the path is so narrow.
and when i saw the parking, the first thought that went in my head was: "and this is supposed to be some what of a luxury mall?"
Anyway, i was only there to check out H&M which took us quite a while to find as there are no maps in the mall for directions to places.
Not that I can afford it :) but I remember walking in Dubai Mall to reach an end of a corridor into a section that just felt different and luxurious like in a lobby of a 5 star hotel to find all the brands like Gucci, Burberry, D&G, Coach etc... Although most stores are not open yet, I was expecting to find the same in Taj mall but I assumed wrong and so far, it doesnt look anything special.
the finale was the exit! :) now seriously, if you are in such a hurry to open the mall, atleast have a decent exit!!! a small crack in the wall that a small car barely fits in isnt called an exit gate!
I think they were in a rush to open and opened too soon. I hope it picks up once its completely finished.
love this place when were in the mood for something chillled, quiet and a good old cup of hot tea! I dont recommend it for a big group who just want to talk and catch up as its not too spacious but I would say its an inspiring environment to go work in with its free WIFI surrounded by people on their laptops working or studying or reading a book.
Ive tried their indian tea which is really good and their desserts are delicious!
Their peach ice tea is very refreshing in the summer as well.
A friend of mine mentioned she visited a pizza place on the way to fheis that she really liked so i thought id go check it out.
its just right off dabouq after the tunnel to fheis on your right hand side and it turns out the place has opened a month ago and is called Bellariva Pizza and beer
I liked the setting of the place. gives off a feel of a sports bar/ italian small restaurant serving only beer and wine and soft drinks for beverages and a small food menu of italian items
Since the place is still new there was just us and another table but i definitely see it happening soon and looking forward to visiting it again
we had one of our fun social activities today at work. a group of 30 people from work went speed racing today to race ways karting.
the place is in park plaza on the 5th floor but was pretty chilly as they had no sort of heating on but that didnt seem to be a problem once we were on the track as you get heated up with excitement
we were split into a group of 6 people and your on the track for about 10 minutes and the winners were chosen according to the best speed time per lap.
i probably was one of the people as i got 29 seconds where as the winner got it at 24 seconds
the staff were very helpful, they give you instructions before you start and remain on the track at all times making sure everyhting goes smoothly.
i really enjoyed it as a team building activity with my work colleagues and i see myself doing it again with my friends.
Loved the place! the whole atmosphere is old down town and really great.
there was a big plate in the middle of the table full of different kinds of pickles which made it feel like i was having breakfast in my grandmother's kitchen!
I tried the Halloum cheese there and it was good.
the stools made out of oil tanks was just brilliant and gave the decor an edge along with the lights made out of the red and black Hattas.
My company had organized a social meeting at "have a green day". it was the first time i hear of the place but being located in Jabal Amman first circle, i got an idea of how the place would be; a small cosy coffee place that you could enjoy a cup of coffee with a few friends or perhaps work or study in.
although the place is not obvious from the street its quite easy to get to and you avoid the rainbow traffic since its right on the corner of the 1st circle
from the name of the place, the theme is "go green" so no smoking is allowed in the place but the venue it quite nice and we hosted a group of over 70 people and fit quite comfortably
I recall prego was the happening place for a while a couple of years ago with a nice balcony that everyone loved in the summer and was always packed . unfortunately its hype faded too quick and became just another place in amman.
I had planned to meet a friend of mine over the weekend and as they wanted to have a shisha they chose to go to prego.
we went at around 6 pm and we were pretty much the only ones there, so it would be difficult to judge on the service as all the waiters were free to serve. The fizzy drinks we ordered came flat but the waiter took our complaint without hestitating and chnaged them for us and was apologetic..
over all its an alright place that i wouldnt mind joining others to but perhaps not be the person suggesting it
I was expecting more slides and rides but i honestly had a great day! you could grab a wheel and just stay in the water all day long.
there was one slide that was really cool. you get on your wheel and slip down then up and around. I was laughing all the way through it. it was soo much fun.
as for the known slide known as the leap of faith... oh my god! you are literally falling at 90 degrees and at one point your whole body is in the air and you don't touch the slide! i tried to scream but i was so scared i couldn't! but i went on it 3 times!
after all the shouting, i just enjoyed relaxing in the wheel and the waves.
I dont know how i will eat Chinese in a different restaurant ever again!
I was only in Dubai for a week and as i was walking in the Mall of Emirates I saw the restaurant and ive heard so much about it i said i have to go try it.
we walked into the place and it was packed! we registered our names and they gave us a beeper that will beep once an empty table is available. after 30 minutes the beeper went off and we were seated at our table.
the waiter was very helpful and gave us good choices to pick from.
we started off with a lettuce wrap which was really good! the sweet and sour chicken was unbelievable and the beef and shrimp were really out of this world!
we ordered quite a few dishes and it all came up to about 100 AED per person!
cant wait for the branch to open where i live in Jordan
During my travel to Dubai, a large group of us were invited to St Maxim's. Located in the Mall of the Emirates I was expecting something else. I was expecting a very casual restaurant however the setting was very nice and you do not feel that your in the mall at all.
We had a set menu to choose from in which i chose to try the tiger shrimps.
it comes raw in which you cook yourself on a pre-heated stone which is extremely hot by the way and need to be careful but the steam can also act as u good facial!
when it arrived i really looked at it and thought to myself so what should i be doing with this and took me a minute til i caught on but i enjoyed overcooking it :) and i thought it was tasty! i recommend trying it.
I wasnt keen on the waitress's attitude though and is what put me off for the evening.
All in all, i enjoyed my shrimps and mostly the company
oh my god what an amazing experience!
let me tell you how is started...
A friend of mine convinced me to do it (who didnt do it in the end by the way!) so i went to their website which has all the information you need from timing to price which includes still photos and a video and i contacted them and made my reservation a week ahead.
so you arrive at their location in JBR and a car picks you up and takes you to the place. we got in and have to fill in a form and wait for our turn and thats when i panicked and could not believe what i was about to do?!?!?!?!
30 minutes later, my photographer pope comes up and starts interviewing me. my lips were trembling and my hands were shaking and i couldnt talk (which is all on tape)
then came my instructor Dan who got me ready in my gear and gave me instructions. pretty simple... as were about to jump, place your head to the side, curl your feet up and hold on to dear life!!!! mmm hold on to what excatly? air?!
i was having a calm moment on our way up to 13,000 feet just enjoying the view of the palm and then it was time... no turning back!
sat on the edge of the plane 1... 2... 3... and JUMP! JUMP! JUMP!
2 seconds later my eyes and mouth were wide open and screaming like there was no tomorrow! but amazingly you feel sooooo free!
I was falling at such a speed that my nose was on one side of my face my lips on the other. the free fall goes on for about a minute and then the parachute opens. you spring up in the air and that was just great!!!!!!
Dan got me to stear my own parachute and do some acrobat moves and about 6 minutes later we got ready for landing!
when i reached the ground, i felt so relaxed but full of energy and exhausted at the same time.
it was just an unforgettable experience and yes! i would definitely do it again!
the crew were just brilliant! and made it soo much fun!
i definitely recommend you do sky diving at skydive Dubai!!!!
People usually rank this as the best sushi place in Amman! I only recently tried sushi and really enjoyed it at yoshi. It has a great balcony in the summer and the atmosphere is great. I would definitely recommend this place for its atmosphere, good food and service.
It is quite pricey but they offer a 30% discount on the bill between 4 - 7 pm
I went to Shaman Garden on a week day and was quite surprised to see how full it was. although its called a garden, it isnt really but the atmosphere was chilled and the music was nice although its a bit pricey and have a minimum charge of 15 jds.
I wouldnt list it as one of my favourite places but its nice
If you want to go to this place you definitely need to make reservations and at least one day in advance! It is always fully booked. Not only is the food and service good but the atmosphere of the restaurant is just great! One of my favorite in the summer as it is all about the view of old town down!
I live in the neighborhood and pass by auntie Hanady's cheesecake every day. Its logo and decor have grabbed my attention every time but I couldn't resist yesterday and decided to go and try it specially that so many have raved about it.
I was really expecting to become addicted. I tried the oreo cheesecake but i think i had 2 bites of oreo. i did enjoy it and will definitely go try it out again, perhaps a different cheesecake as well but i would rate it as average!
no one beats my brother inlaw's cheesecake!! :)
I have been walking around the area for exercise and gone into the park. i was impressed with how clean it was and the number of people just enjoying the weather after iftar or kids playing on their bikes. very refreshing!
Good store for every day basic home appliances and accessories with reasonable prices. you can buy a whole set of plates, bowls, cups and sauces for 20 JDs.
i recommend checking them before taking them as some may be broken when transported.
I also found a few lanterns for Ramadan that were not bad. coloured glass with a place for a candle inside. i think the price was 5 for the small one.
i couldnt stop asking myself if i was at the right venue out of astonishment as i walked up the stairs to the door . the restaurant is huge enough to cater 1000 people maybe and it was quite booked! as we walked in, a colleague of mine told me wow! this feels like a 5 star hotel. A first time restaurant in Jordan of that size and quality.
We were there for Iftar Ramadan. the buffet had a variety of food such as freekeh, pasta, lamb and rice etc... the food was good but i enjoyed my Om Ali for dessert the best :)
