  • Review by Fawwaz of Tim Hortons
They have great doughnuts and breakfast sandwiches. They also have great coffee and tea, and their timbits are a can't miss. I just didn't get what all the hype was when it finally arrived, it's basically a mix of dunkin doughnuts and costa, nothing more.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Etoiles Emirates Palace
    7 years ago
Some say it's the best restaurant in Abu Dhabi. It's very good, but I think the quality you get does not equal the price you pay. Don't get me wrong, the food and service is excellent, but I don't think this restaurant is meant for everyone. For those who have 600 dirhams to spend on a steak, you probably won't find a better restaurant in Abu Dhabi. For those who don't, perhaps somewhere else. The nightclub that opens up at night is also very cool and fun, though its gets very crowded on account of it's size. All in all, a great restaurant, for those who can afford it.

In terms of food, it's amazing. You won't find better Indian food in Abu Dhabi. They have amazing options, and the chef can modify to fit your preference. Very vegetarian friendly. They also serve drinks, and the setting is very cool and modern. It's a great place to have dinner with a friend. Not very kid friendly, and I don't even think they allow toddlers in at night anymore.
  • Review by Fawwaz of The Noodle House
Not amazing, but it's a good restaurant to head to if you love Chinese food and want a restaurant setting. Menus are fun, staff is friendly and attentive, and seating is spacious and comfy. Their food is alright, but it's better than any Chinese restaurant you would find at the food court. If you go to the one in the shangrila souq they have a nice outdoor seating with a breeze.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Grand Millennium Al Wahda
    7 years ago
When you take into account price, location, rooms, and food, you can say this is one of the best hotels in the city. It's connected to the new and improved Wahda mall, and is in down town Abu Dhabi, not more than a 5-10 min cab ride from anywhere important in town. Its priced well for a five star of it's category. The rooms are spacious enough and have great décor.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Fast Rent A Car
One good thing about fast is there bus rental service. If you need to get a large group of people somewhere, with or without a chaufer, they can accommodate. This is especially good if you are looking to take a trip to Dubai. Good prices too, if you had thirty people going to Dubai and back and everyone pitched in, you'd be paying like 20 dirhams a person.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Cine Royal Cinemas
    7 years ago
Though it's not really as good as VOX, being in khalidiyah mall and delma mall, it has much more of a reach than Vox. I also sometimes find that their timings are slightly better. Because Vox is only in Marina mall, many people find cineroyal very helpful. Their snacks are great and there are plenty of options. Only complaint I would have on that front would be the lack of different sizes which can sometimes be a pain. Audio and visual are great and seats are comfy.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Fuddruckers
Fudruckers is one of the best tex-mex style American restaurants in town. Their menu is massive, and they have options for just about everybody, they even have a vegetarian option. Their burgers are ok, but the chicken sandwiches are amazing. Try the appetizer platter to start, or even as a main course, its that good and at fifty dirhams it's the best dish if you want options. Free refills is a must, and of course it's available. They also have good deserts as well as options for kids. Their service is excellent, even though it occasionally feels like the food takes to long, but that's no biggy.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Dalma Mall
Dalma mall is slowly developing into one of the best malls in the city. It has cineroyal, which is the same cinema as in khalidiyah mall, and that's huge. The food court still has a ways to go, but mcdonalds and other big names are opening there soon. Many other restaurants and cafes have opened there as , well, such as shake shack, grand central, il forno, and Tim Hortons. In terms of fashion, they now have tons of stores open such as H&m and American eagle. Of course Carrefour is always a plus.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Jarir Bookstore
Jarir is probably the best stationery book store in Abu Dhabi. They really have anything you need, from school supplies to office supplies, to painting supplies. The place is also massive. I'd say the only negakitives about it are its weird opening timings, kind of bad location, and slightly expensive prices.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Madinat Zayed Shopping Center
    7 years ago
I'm going to speak specifically about the cell phone trade they have here. Honestly unless you have tons of money to spend, this is the place to buy or sell a cell phone. There are many vendors in the center, and they are all competing for the best prices and what not, and they sell new and used phones. Personally I prefer to buy used, as they are almost as good as new, and they are half the price. It's probably the only place in town where you can buy a phone for 30 dirhams! I also enjoy selling my phones here, as you can sell any phone, even if it's broken as many of the vendors are able to fix them by themselves.
  • Review by Fawwaz of KFC
KFC Abu Dhabi is really good. Ok first of all, yes, it's not very healthy. For those who don't care too much, you will love it, if for some strange reason you haven't tried it yet. Flood is always hot and flavored perfectly. Did I mention that it is extremely cheap! If I had a thousand dirhams to spend on food anywhere in Abu Dhabi, KFC is always choice # 1. Most of the branches are extremely well maintained.
  • Review by Fawwaz of just falafel
Very nice place to have falafel in Abu Dhabi, maybe even better than Lebanese flower. I'm not much of a falafel guy, but I really enjoy it here. Not too expensive as well
  • Review by Fawwaz of Café Hanin
The food and drinks are ok, nothing too special. The menu has a lot of options which was nice, and I think they have good shisha. The best thing about it is the setting. Very nice outdoor, perfect for drinking coffee with friends. I wouldn't drive to Taj just for this café, but its a nice option.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Ocean Sea food and Lebanese
    7 years ago
We ordered Ocean to the house, the delivery service was great, but the food was very average. They had a very good menu, with a lot of options, but most of the food was very plain. Nothing special about it. We ordered quite a bit, and really the best dish they had was the shish tawouq, which didn't really have anything special about it. For what you pay here, you could probably go to a lot of other places in town and have a better dinner.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Ace Hardware
Ace is a really helpful shop to have here in Abu Dhabi, as it has basically any home appliance you could need. It's the home depot of Abu Dhabi. They have tons of staff to help you out inside then bring your purchases to your car. I find it really and easy day out when I go to ACE. Also not too expensive
  • Review by Fawwaz of Khalifa International Bowling Centre
    7 years ago
Not as modern as some of the bowling alleys in the malls, but it's honestly a very good bowling alley. Perhaps it's not as clean as it could be, their restaurant option is very limited, and the arcade is half broken. In terms of bowling though, not many in town can beat it. It has a LOT of lanes, and unless you are coming on a Friday night you will probably find space to play. It's also much cheaper than the other lanes in town. You only pay like seven dirhams a game. They also have a very good billiards area, that almost always has space. I'd say it's a pretty good place to take the family
  • Review by Fawwaz of Costa Coffee
In Abu Dhabi, Costa is truly better than any of it's competitors, including star bucks. Their coffee is good, not amazing but probably better than most places in town. Their sandwiches are amazing though. They have really good selections, ranging from paninis to ciabatas, to normal sliced sandwiches. They also have really good cakes and tarts to go with your drink, and in most costas in the city you can get wifi. Overall a very good coffee shop, one of the best here in Abu Dhabi
  • Review by Fawwaz of Louis Vuitton
First of all, their collection kind of stinks, you would think that they would be able to at least have the same products as Dubai right? Worst of all is their service. If you don't look like you have money, you actually won't get any help. If you want to have some fun, come in gym shorts and watch how no one helps you, then find the most expensive thing in the shop and tell them you want to buy it. After you are done, please post the picture of their face. Anyways, I would definitely recommend driving down to Dubai if you intend to actually buy anything from Louise Vuitton.
  • Review by Fawwaz of American Eagle
Not much to say really, finally American Eagle has opened in Abu Dhabi. They have a good collection, not as good as in their online catalogue, but definitely better than GAP and H&M. Kind of expensive, but then again it's appropriate for it's category. Open now in Wahda mall and Delma mall
  • Review by Fawwaz of Cedar Lounge Lebanese Restaurant and Bar
    7 years ago
Cedar Lounge is the best middle eastern cuisine restaurant iv'e been to in the city. There were some worries when it opened that it wouldn't get enough traffic due to how close it is to Abdul Wahab, but in my opinion they have greatly out-done Abdul Wahab for so many reasons. First of all, the food is much better, especially the kebab. But the main reason for it's success is the lounge on the terrace outside, with traditional majliss like seating where one can order a shisha and have a drink. It's really a chill setting that you can visit with family or friends. It is a five star restaurant, expect to pay as such
  • Review by Fawwaz of Salem Travel Agency
    7 years ago
Salem travel agency is my favorite travel agency in the city, and iv'e tried quite a few. The process is simple and easy, you go in give them a location and a date, and they will work their magic. I once came in looking for a cheap flight to London, and they were able to book me on a connecting flight that was half the price of any other fight available, and none of the other offices I went to could find it. All in all, they give you good prices, and are able to book your vacation really quickly.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Mina Fruit Market
    7 years ago
This fruit market in the mina area is the best natural fruit market in town. For those looking for fruits not filled with chemicals wrapped in plastic, this is the place to come. The fruits are freshly shipped in, and amazing quality. My family gets all of our fruits from here. The prices are very decent, and often negotiable, as there are multiple vendors in this market.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Adnec
Adnec is Abu Dhabi's main exhibition center, and it's amazing. Any major exhibition, whether it's art, real estate, or military is held here. The place is massive, honestly big enough to host multiple exhibitions at once. Adnec has tons of restaurants and cafes around the place that helps make it one of the best in town for informative or cultural outings. Every once in a while, something cool comes up for kids or teens which makes it very family friendly as well, especially during the summer.
  • Review by Fawwaz of Jones the Grocer
The food at Jones really isn't worth what you pay for it. I'm speaking specifically about the restaurant, because the bakery is quite good. But the restaurant is quite average. The best dishes they have are quite average. The worst ones almost made me gag. The portions are also not worth what you pay for. While some thing their modern style of seating is cool and hip, I honestly am not able to find a less comfortable chair. Anyways unless you are a regular client and fan of Jones the Grocer, i'd say perhaps it's not the best place to go in a city full of options
