My kids certainly enjoyed their time at Lollihop. It has many facilities including various slides, climb up mountain, ball pool and trampolines. It also has a seating area that looks upon the playing area. This is very useful if parents would like to have a coffee and watch over their kids. All in all, this is a top facility!
However, it is extremely pricey. It is 15JD per child. With two kids I paid 30 JD including socks. I myself also had to buy socks. Any other person who wants to join the kids also needs to buy a pair. Despite the manager explaining the hygiene driven goals of this, I still find it exploitative. I had been to several play areas around the globe and this is by far the most expensive one . While this play area is larger than the common ones in Amman, the ones I had visited such as the one in UK were similar in size and were 5.5 pounds which amounts to 6 JD additionally with no need to buy any socks (https://www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/newcastle/eldon/prices). While the one in Germany was 8.5 Euro s for children between 2-12 which is nearly 7JD. (https://www.jackelino.de/en/times-prices.html). Just to mention a few.
This being said, I applaud the establishment of this play area for its quality and design yet its prices are extremely extremely exploitative...
As an architect, I was mesmerized by the interior pictures that had been posted about Hala's treats. Moreover, I was taken in by the mouthwatering pictures of its food! Hence, a couple of friends and myself decided to visit it full of excitement . However, I was let down by multiple things. First, the staff are not welcoming at all and are extremely, extremely rigid. One nearly feels embarrassed to ask about things! Second, there were a lot of cakes which made us extremely excited! however, the moment we wanted to order we were surprised that 90% of them are not to be cut because the policy is that the cakes remain intact for any customer who wished to buy it as a whole. This left us with three cake slices to choose from. Total let down! Thirdly, at 1:00 there were only three types of sandwiches to choose from. When I asked about the other options written down, he said they were sold out. So was the case with the Mushroom tarts. I understand that this would happen at 4:00 or even 3:00 but at 1:00? I mean the day has just started. After showing my discontent, the chap told me that he could ask for it to be made.
We had three salads, 5 sandwiches, coffees ,one pecan tart piece and mini cheesecakes and the bill went up to 105 JD's. which I do think is overpriced.
To be honest though, the pecan tart was out of this world, so was the lettuce, goat cheese and date salad. Delicious! However, the cheese cake base was extremely soggy, the sandwiches had stale bread . As a coffee connoisseur, I would rate its coffee as nearly ok. The beans didn't taste fresh nor aromatic. I don't think they are pure Arabica beans, maybe mixed with Robusta.
The interior is the winner nonetheless, really beautiful. However concerning expected food level and service, purely a let down!
I had a paper to translate that would grant me access to my research site. It was about a paragraph long. The translation officer told me that he would not be able to do it on that day although it was still 2:00. I agreed that it would be ready next day at 9:00 or 9:30. I arrived at 9:30, the man at the front desk could not find it. It took another 40 minutes to finally get the paper which was apparently translated while I was at the office. I had to check it twice as there were a few typos.
I was upset because I was running late moreover that I was not told about the paper not being ready. I could have used my time more efficiently if I had been told so. Professionalism is part if that: being able to deliver on time or being able to tackle problems on the spot on a high standard.
This is truly a Gem! I always drove by it until a few days ago I decided to try it.
Lovely garden! the atmosphere is so artistic! urban style cafe. The menu is also intriguing. I still have to try their coffee to give them the finalized ranking:D
I visited Dr.Rami after reading the reviews on Jeeran and I have had a very positive experience with Dr.Rami. As pervious reviewers said he is a great lister, takes his time in explaining things to the ultimate detail! and is always very cheerful yet very professional.
I always find a parking space as well, which I personally always had a problem with.
