When i went to this cafe , i was surprised by the artistic atmosphere ,, everything was related to art
the decoration was more like a home furniture with special writings on some chairs and some photographs on the other .. you can play tawlet el zahir also or you can draw on a special stand ,,
the thing that was eye capturing the paintings which were for sale hanging on the walls with a different price on each :)
The menus also were artistc in a funny way ,, for example there was a meal called ''Abd al halim halloum'' and other called '' Madonna Mango'' .. i didnt find this very catchy because the food wasnt very tasty and the juice was not fresh either !
The Funniest thing of all was the waiter with the super powers who can really memorize everything without even holding a pen and a peper to write down our papers *Respect :)
If you are on a harry, dont choose this cafe because the service is very slow !
I used to work down the street from this cafe but I only went once. I just thought that the prices were over priced compared to it' surrounding competitors. The place is cute, and quaint, but I was surprised by the costs, considering the presentation in a plastic container. I would need to be more visually allured to the food to spend the money. I suppose it is attracting the hippy hipsters of the expat community. I am also a non-smoker and I think that the air circulation is not that great. I suppose for the net and surfing it is a decent speed, and if you go in the afternoon and need some quiet, it would be a place to try out.
Unfortunately I was disappointed. Maybe because I expected a lot more...
I went during the afternoon for a quick cup of coffee and dessert with a friend. Walking in yesterday, I didn't feel like it was an "artist's" cafe. There was a huge Warhol-esque print outside the cafe but it looked more like it was left outside for someone to pick up. Aside from the a few books on artists and a sign to promote designing your own t-shirt, it wasn't a kind of place that inspires art, it just looked like a regular cafe. In all fairness I didn't go upstairs, so maybe it was better up there.
Considering that it's a cafe, I would've expected to at least have basic options like caffeinated and decaf, full fat or skimmed milk. I know it's not Starbucks but every cafe at least has these basic options. They did have low fat milk but no decaf. I ordered a Latte which was pretty good. I liked the way it was layered and had thick foam on top.
My friend ordered the chocolate ball which, we were told, had lazy cake inside. I ordered the chocolate glazed eclair. Those two items were such a disappointment! The chocolate ball was very hard and was solid chocolate with very few and tiny specs of pistachio nut. The chocolate was of poor quality and although it wasn't that large of a ball, we couldn't finish it.
The eclair was too big. The choux pastry was too thick, very dry and did not have a buttery taste at all, even though an original recipe would have a lot of butter in it. The vanilla pastry cream was tasteless and clumpy and the chocolate glaze crumbled off the pastry.
Service was laid back and friendly, which was nice but after my first visit there, I wasn't given any reason to go back unless I really have to.
location is amazing in rainbow street and small place but i like it
simple food , cafe more than anything
friends can speak and sharing ideas there
prices are good not too high
decoration is funny , different Designs
easy to pick your place
customer service is good engh
I like the decor they have very modern and funky , but there's something wrong with the food I don't know what It is , but I feel the food is very old , and mot fresh , and the prices are really high , there you can draw , design and be creative
Cafe Des Artist is one of the most unique places in Amman, the place is quite, cozy, artistic and has a good service.
Winter or summer; the place is perfect for groups gathering, two or three people gathering, for studying or even for a nice cup of coffee or tea.
Artistic theme is all over the place, good music, good drinks and good food as well, I recommend the muffins there along with cup of coffee, or one of their amazing snacks along with their green delicious tea.
The place has no parking nor Valet service but it would be easy to find parking spots around, and it would be great walking at Rainbow street to the cafe, the second floor is fully dedicated for nonsmokers,no Shisha/Argeeleh, the service is excellent and the prices are reasonable as well.
Sadly, I was disappointed! maybe because i expected more from Atico!! The food itself was not at all memorable. Too pricey for not being tasty.
The service was surprisingly awful. Maybe I just hit it on an absurdly bad day, but with so many lovely spots in amman I think Des Artistes has absolutely no excuse for treating customres so rudely.
I will admit though that it is a beautifully decorated restaurant.
