The mezze were fantastic. They make the best tabouleh I've ever had. There is always something missing from the mix when we order it elsewhere (no salt, not enough lemon juice, etc.) but Burj Al Hamam has it down perfect. For our main entre we had the Beef Filet Burj Al Hamam. I'm guessing it was cooked in traditional Lebanese sytle. While tasty, it is not what we expected. To pound a beef filet down to 5mm is near sinful in my book but I can't judge them on that because I'm not here to judge a country's cuisine. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. I marked it as pricey but that is solely because of the hotel factor. For some reason if you order a soda or water at a hotel it suddenly costs 3 JD for one can of Pepsi. This drives me absolutely crazy... 1000% markup is shameful. Other than this the prices of the dinner items were fairly priced. If you're living in Aqaba it's nice to eat dinner here and then go stroll on their nice imported sand beach ;) We relaxed on the beach chairs for a while and watched the beautiful gulf of Aqaba while in the Intercon grounds. The flavor that the coal adds is wonderful. I, along with most of the customers, prefer the chicken sandwich over the lamb. That is not to stay that the lamb isn't good... but rather saying that the chicken is just so good. I would give Tatbileh 5 stars if it weren't for their name and subsequent lack on the menu.Tatbileh is the spicy green mix that goes on top of hummos. Tatbileh does not have hummos or... TATBILEH! It's honestly kind of funny but their sandwiches make up for this shortcoming. The staff is very friendly and it is usually very fast service except for when someone comes in and orders 20 meals. Rather than integrating the one and two sandwich orders into the 20 meal order... they cook all 20 meals while everyone else waits. This aspect of service is rather poor but luckily it doesn't happen all that often while I'm there. Read more

If you can afford those whopping prices (sarcasm) then you've found your new hummos/falafel joint in Aqaba. The seating is nice, both indoor and outdoor. The staff is very friendly and courteous. We normally don't do anything in Aqaba because the quality of medical care is sub-par. This experience was okay. The good: - The man doing the stitching was caring and very nice. I feel that he did a decent job. - The hospital seemed clean enough... meaning I didn't see anything just outright scary. The bad: - Having to go to the cashier at least 3 times to pay for each individual item prior to them working. My daughter is crying, bleeding and in pain... just do it! Perhaps they've had problems with people not having the money in the past but whatever. - They required an x-ray of her head. I told them that it wasn't a big fall or anything and I didn't think it was needed. They wanted it anyway. After speaking to our pediatrician she warned me to never get head x-rays of children unless it is absolutely necessary and in this case it wasn't. The pediatrician confirmed my suspicion that they hospitals love to do x-rays because they are big money makers. Who cares about radiation on children's brains as long as they're making money for it, right? - Parking is non-existant so park somewhere on the street and walk in. Read more

As with all of these places, the beds always leave something to be desired. I usually wake up in the middle of the night with one or both arms having fallen asleep due to the firmness (read: concreteness) of the bed and the following lack of circulation. The staff of brothers are very helpful and fun to talk to. If you have them prepare you a meal you will not be disappointed. I recommend the Darna if you're looking for a cheap beach-front hotel. As Razan stated, the one near Tasqeyeh between Haya circle on the way up the hill towards the gigantic intersection. The other branch, which is bigger, is over in Shweikh mall. Parking at Shweikh mall location is usually more sparce and requires parking out on the street which isn't a big deal. Read more
