I ordered take away ... eggplant salad .. it wasnt that good .. very very row (healthy) and its too expensive to pay 11 jds for a salad which is dry.

    I must say...I'm not really a fan.

They did a good job ripping of "The Slug and Lettuce" name (a famous and touristy spot in the UK). It made me chuckle...kind of like Adigas.

Anyhnow, a quick summary: good salads, but brutal sushi (actually had to send some of it back which I don't do very often). With other Ammani sushi options available, I can't see myself returning. Next!

Alas, I did not try any cooked fish...only their salads and sushi.

Would love to have a proper salmon grilled on a cedar plank here or any kind of wood for that matter!

Hmmm...have you tried Masgoof? Not exactly what you are looking for but its supposed to be tasty. Its fish grilled on an open flame...supposed to be tasty and is Iraq's national dish. I hear there's a place in Khalda that's particularly good (by Rawan Cake)... haven't tried it yet though.

I think i know the place you are talking about, never tried it though, not a fan of Iraqi Food to be honest. I saw a fish i wanna try at Chappati the indian restaurant, check the pictures, it looks so good i hate who ate it and uploaded it :D

I went with a couple of friends to the Lettuce and the Fish tonight and we actually had a lovely experience all in all... we had sushi and 3 different salads from the sushi menu... the salads were BIG and yummy... all three, the shrimp rock, the salmon, and the kani salad... all perfect... the sushi was above average, very light and satisfying.. not Yoshi or Vinaigrette material (the top in town, in my opinion) but good nonetheless.

The service was good by Amman standards but by standards of the rest of the world i think it could be improved :).. coming from Dubai, where waiters almost always smile at you and are overly friendly, I felt there is room for improvement in that area.

The place offers very good value for money... we paid around 20 JDs each for 3 salads, about 15 or so pieces of sushi and soft drinks.

I would definitely go there again for sushi and to try other (non-sushi) items.

Ruba, I think I'll try it after reading your review. "by Amman standards" is the right thing to say I've been to Dubai and you can't really compare restaurants here and there . i wish they improve here soon .

I finally went to this place after hearing so much about it from Jeeran and friends. i must say the decor of the place is so amazing and creative. very fresh and clean. the staff are friendly and helpful.

as for the food i ordered chicken something "cannot remember the name" it is chicken with bbq sauce and grilled tomatoes and maushrooms. and instead of french fries they put potato chips which i didnt really like.

food was below average ..my sandwich was dry and cold and i felt that there was nothing special about it.i had to ask for extra sauce .

my all in all experience was good. but i guess nice atomsphere and good service only (with below average food) wont let me visit anytime soon!

PS: im not a sushi lover so maybe i will judge differently.

    they have Epoints.

I finally made it to the Lettuce and the Fish in a springy sunny day,, so my first time there was on the terrace, the location is nice and casual for a quick bit.

I heard about their refreshing salads but haven't tried those when i was there although I've seen one steak/salad bowl being served to the table next to me which looked absolutely yummy!

anyway, i started my meal with Miso soup which was not my favorite to be honest, something was off with the consistency, it was salty even for me (i add lots of salt to my food). after that i got the Kani salad, this one was really good, the mayo in the salad was just perfect (not too creamy).. the salad was beautifully served as well.

as for the main course, I could not resist but order Sushi. i was in the mood for some standard, fresh rolls.. nothing fancy and back to basics! got the traditional salmon, Tuna and spicy roll (they call it differently) which were amazing! honestly i think this place got the sushi down no question.. the rice was fresh and cooked right,,

I was disappointed however to know that the Zen hour (30% off from 4-7 was cancelled) they have replaced that offer it seems with a full 2 day open bar sushi for fixed price (haven't tried that yet, I wanna see if quality would be affected with the open sushi days tue and fri)

would also recommend replacing the pickled ginger with fresh ones for a fresh sharp taste.. pricing was reasonable, not overly priced and the waiter/service was pleasant!

a great place for a fresh bite :)

So we went to try The Lettuce and The Fish, at first I was confused with the amount of items on the menu and after looking at the menu we decided to try a couple of appetizers, salads and sandwiches. The appetizers we great especially the beef. The salad portions were great and tasted good. I sandwich was good but nothing special. I especially like the atmosphere and service was excellent. I would definitely go back to try the sushi!!!

The Lettuce and the Fish is the place to satisfy your cravings for Sushi or a freshly prepared gourmet sandwiches & Salads.

    *Location

Abdoun, Same building as Fitness First Gym

    *Features

Alcohol Free Environment, Catering Available, Delivery Available, Outdoor Area Available, Smoke Free Indoor Area.

    *The menu

they have Soups, Salads, Sandwiches, Side Orders, Beverages, Desserts, Soups , Appetizers, Salads, Sashimi (4 Pcs), Nigiri Sushi - With Rice (2Pcs), Maki Rolls - (4Pcs), Temaki - Hand roll , L&F Signaturs Rolls ( Sushi Chef's Special) , Sushi Set Platters , Soups, Appetizers. Menu is big with lots of variety, 2 faces of the menu, one for lettuce or the salads and sandwiches, and one for fish, being the sushi.

We had one of the best sushi in town, rice is consistent and not too sticky, and we loved the new flavors not available anywhere else, I think it's name was exotic fish maki. Grilled salmon salad was excellent, rich of ingredients, dill, capers, sun dried tomatoes ....etc, and the portion is big! Crab sandwich was so fresh with chunky lemon pieces.

    *the decor and atmosphere

The place is simple & attractive, it has a nice vibe, fresh design & concept

    *service

Service was good, needs some improvement, but I can understand it's not fine dining.

*Prices: like any other Sushi restaurant.

    *valet service is available.
