La Maison Verte Restaurant

Maybe it wasn't this place's best night. I was honestly disappointed. It's supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Amman and it does demand a premium. A special dinner for two can run up to well above $150 without beverages.

My wife and I tried a couple of their appetizers, the mixed mushroom risotto was excellent, really done well and was the best dish we had that night. The other appetizer was just tomatoes and fresh mozzarella which is hard to screw up.

For mains, we had a chicken breast with lime sauce and a fillet with mushroom sauce. The "100% Angus Beef" fillet was horrible, not seasoned well, way overcooked (how can you overcook a steak almost 2 inches thick?!!!), and the sauce was barely noticeable. The chicken was good, but not spectacular. We then shared a small scoop of ice cream and it was almost frozen.

The bill was around $125 for a meal that I can only classify as average quality at a premium price.

The service there is excellent. Staff are friendly except for one guy in a suit who looked like he was their supervisor. Very stiff fellow that perfectly fits the local stereotype of abu kashra :D

The place is well decorated, nice, but the one downside that it is all smoking and you can smell cigar everywhere. So be aware of that if you're easily bothered by smoke.

My hunt for a good steak in Amman continues ...

هدا المطعم فرنسي بامتياز وكل زباينه كلاس . واحلى تروحوا عليه بالليل ويفضل انو الواحد يكون لابس رسمي , مرات بيكون فيه رجّـال او مره بيعزفوا على البيانو ، القعده بالصيف خياليه . بده حجز مسبق .

بقترح عليكم تطلبوا :

- المقبلات : بريزاولا او كلماري (حر شوي ) .

- الطبق الرئيسي : شاربونات او entre cote .

- صحن اجبان فرنسية خطيرة .

- الحلويات : فوندا الشوكولاته او كريب سوزيت .

*** ما حده يحكي عني فجعانه بس هيك الفرنسيين الصح بياكلوا :-) .

جربوه وما رح تندموا .

I went with a friend of mine to have her birthday dinner and it turned to be more than expected. From the time we parked close to the front door, a gentle Valet guys welcomed us among with a neat person and directly took us to the front desk to check our reservation. In no time, we began to feel different especially when we discovered that we will be sitting close to the "bahra" and all was green around us.

The settings are nice, looks old but genuine. The menu is too small, but enough if quality is considered, maybe they just need to add the beverage menu to it. Immediately, I ordered my favorite local Saint George wine, well preserved. We began with the starters menu, Ravioles & Soup A L'onion and we couldn't wait to order the main course which was two amazing dishes; Angus Fillet Steak & Sea Bass Fillet. The presentation was very neat while the taste was as delicious as one can ever expect; away too far from our expectations.

Waiters are nice and smiling all the time (something you can't always find in Amman). Music is not that much, they need to work on a more rhythmic collection. In overall, the environment was a peace of heaven, and worth every single penny you spend there. Amazingly, they did us a happy birthday to you thing with a classy presentation with a large amount of Profiterole & Glace; and it was nice as well.

Expensive? Yes, very expensive.. but worth it! If you have a special occasion, an anniversary, a business dinner or you just want your woman to smile all the time, go there..

Classy and more exclusive fine dining. Opens at lunch time and dinner through midnight. The restaurant is reservations only. Perfect for important business lunch/dinner and celebrating intimate occasions. Can be reserved for a receptions.

The menu is rich. Even though the restaurant is French, they offer famous international dishes. The restaurant offers alcohol.

Entertainment available at night. I'm not sure if it's always available, but the times I had dinner there, there was a singer later after.

The portion of appetizers is small, which is good because you don't wanna full up on appetizers and miss all the delicious main entrees. The steak is really good. What I love so much though, is the bread and butter served at the table. The butter is smooth and the bread is salty in a good way that balances the taste! The steak is amazing also. Generally, the food is delicious and I personally do not have any complain on it.

The service is perfect! The time from being welcomed at the door, to ordering the food to being served is withing international standards. The staff are professionals! They greet you well at the door, take your coats (if any) take you to your reserved table and treat you extra polite and gentle.

Some might find the prices expensive, but with the high quality and excellent service no one will feel ripped off! All in all, a very pleasant experience that leaves you with a smile!

What a great place to celebrate a special occasion! Wonderful atmosphere, awesome food, great service and dining experience.

The restaurant serves French food, I tried onion soup and spinach ravioli and it was really good, the French bread was very fresh and delicious...we just couldn’t get enough of it!

محل بجنن ، أسعار عند هيدا المحل شوي مرتفعة ، بس بستاهل ، يعني بتدفع بمكان مناسب لهيك أسعار. يعني راح تدفع مو أقل من 40 دينار عل شخصين، والديكور عند كتير كتير حلو ، كأنك بمكان مو بل أردن ،والجرسون بس بدو رضاك ، وبدل يحوم حواليك حتى يحتلك مي أو أية شي بتحتاج ، وسرعة عندهم منحة كتير ما بطويل، والاكيل عندهم زكي وطييب كتير ، أنا طلبت لازانيا كتير طيببه، و المحل كتير نضيف و مراتب من برا و من جوا ، بنصح كل واحد عندو إحتفال أو يوم مهم أو مناسبه كتير فخمه يروح ويحتفل بهيدا المحل :) ،

إن في محل أذكى من هيك بالدنيا؟ يا الله من أجمل او أطيب ما دقت بحياتي كلها! المكان كتير فخم او الديكورات كتير حلوه او بتحس حالك في مكان هيك لا حالك ذي كأنك بفيلم! الأكل مش طبيعي شو طيب او أنا بنصح بالدجاج مع صلصة الليمون والفلفل اشي ولا الرواع جاد! جربوه ما راح تندمو! او المكان جاد حلو او السرفيس كتير منيحة! ممكن ينرح مجموعة او ممكن يكونو كبلات هاهاهاهاها

كنوع من التغيير لطيف انا روحتو على الغدا و بس كان في 4 طاولات عليهم ناس كتير قليل مع انو كان عطلة الاسبوع بس هادا برجع للاسعار ! انا حسبتوا كتير غالي يعني اوكي الاكل زاكس و الناس مرتبة بس في مبالغة بالاسعار
