books@ cafe is the best , sheesha and customer service it's one of the rare places where i can relax my self and have good time , what ilike the most is the decoration and simplicity in the cafe , also you can feel the spirit of amman there

One of the worst places in Amman (in my opinion) ... I went there several times trying to give it another chance , each time I was disappointed more... the food taste is horrible , the juices were horrible as well ... the prices are high .. the service is too slow
everything is old in the café .. the chairs are uncomfortable at all
They allow dogs and pets to enter .. and people there are weird
The café is also not clean specially the rest rooms
The only thing I like there is the book shop
Very hard to park without the Valet service

Went there with a huge number of friends so they gave us a big section across the bar, general atmosphere is good, the staff is very friendly, although the tables weren't clean when we sat in the separate section, pierces are a bit high, the hookah is good, I ordered lemon and mint and got water melon and mint but for some reason I didn't ask them to replace it, don't by drinks by the glass, get a bottle (Much cheaper), I have no idea why the channel was on MBC4 apparently someone wanted to watch "Doctors" really bad. a place you should try once every couple of years.3 found this review useful

4 found this review useful

2 found this review useful

I went to Books@cafe last week for the first time!
My chair broke as I was sitting, i FELL and I hurt my back real bad, all the waiters did was clap their hands!
Then the food takes 40 minutes to arrive, they also refused my request to change my drink from a ginger ale to a coke, saying it is already in the system!
and finally takes me more than 10 minutes to pay with visa! my waiter was kristine as I remember!
I am really really disappointed with the service, and I will never return there!2 found this review useful

Books@ is a large cafe and terrace above a bookstore. Make your way to the back of the bookstore and up the stairs to reach it.
It's great for a laid back afternoon reading, working or hanging out with friends or for a relaxed evening with a great view over the nighttime lights of Amman. The cafe has free wifi, although it's not a very fast connection.
They serve a variety of food and drinks, including alcohol. As a bonus they also offer soy milk drinks, which is usually hard to find. The prices are middle of the road, not cheap but not too expensive either.
Our experience was a good one in terms of service and quality of the food/drinks. The shisha was excellent and fresh coals were always brought before we needed to ask.2 found this review useful

Books@ is an institution that somehow survives despite having changed almost nothing on the menu in years, offering some of the worst service of any restaurant in its class and being, let's face it, generally mediocre. But it is a de facto community center and I can't think of another place in Amman with the same laid back vibe, combined with the view. Every once in a while I crave the Friday brunch, which is more food than any one person should eat, but it hits the spot. The Saturday tabkha is also often very delicious. Like I said, there is very little interest in ensuring customer satisfaction, almost as though the wait staff would prefer you were not there, and most of the food on the menu is boring and underwhelming, but still, I will probably keep coming back on occasion.
